How to measure racket handle size using a ruler

There are two main ways to make sure you have chosen the right grip size. For the first method, you will need a ruler or measuring tape.

Measure the distance between the palm crease and the tip of the finger

  • Extend the palm of the hand you will be holding the racket with.
  • Measure the distance from the bottom horizontal crease in the palm of your hand (it runs across the entire palm) to the tip of your index finger.
  • You can measure in centimeters, millimeters, or inches.
  • Use the table to help you determine the correct handle size based on your measurement.

How to measure your grip size with a tennis racket

The second method will require a HEAD racket or any other racket you have available.

Check if the racket fits your hand

  • Grasp the racket handle as you normally would during play.
  • Evaluate the space between your fingers and thumb:
    • If you can insert the index finger of your other hand between these places and it fits snugly, the handle size is correct.
    • If your index finger doesn't fit, the handle size is too small.
    • If your index finger fits easily and there is still a lot of free space, the handle size is too large.

Using these methods, you can find the grip that best fits your hand size and provides comfort while playing.
